One Day Tour Package
This full day tour will take you through the the beautiful countryside surrounding Mount Kilimanjaro filled with banana and coffee farms. Here you will be able to learn more about farming practices, and the local life of the Chagga people and the chiefdom system. You will also be able to explore historical sites and learn more about the rich history of Old Moshi as your guide tells you stories dating back to before German colonization.
Some historical sites you will visit are:
The tree where Mangi (Chief) Meli was hanged by the Germans in 1900, the palace of the chief, German military base from the 1890’s and cemetery and old slave market ruins.
After visiting the historical sites you can sit down and enjoy local banana beer, and choose to visit a local school or dispensary.
In the afternoon you will enjoy a delicious local lunch made by mamas in the village, followed by a scenic hike to Mambori waterfalls.
Along the way to the waterfall, your guide will tell you the story of how Mambori waterfalls received its name and explain the medicinal uses for a variety of naturally growing plants along the route.
Sample Two-Day One Night Tour Package
After a full day tour as described above, you will be treated to a delicious home cooked meal, and then spend the night at the accommodation of your choosing (camping, homestay, nearby Keys hotel).
After breakfast, your guide will take you to Kitimbirihu, the site where Christian missionaries from Germany first preached the word of God and baptized the first peoples on the slope of Mount Kilimanjaro in around 1885.
From here you will hike to Kidia Lutheran Church, an original stone church built by German missionaries, as well as Kidia dispensary where you will learn about Doctor Bruno Gutman.
You will then enjoy a local lunch, with the options to take part in the preparation if interested. This tour ends with a visit to a coffee, vanilla, and spice farm where you will learn step by step how coffee is harvested, dried, roasted and ground and have the opportunity to enjoy a cup of organic coffee and a tasting of vanilla tea.
Old Moshi was home to the German military during the German colonial rule from 1885-1919. Join your guide on a tour through these historical sights and learn about German colonial rule and the resistance by the local people.
Explore coffee, spice, and vanilla farms in the area and learn the process of making coffee from the bean to the cup. Here you can also enjoy a cup of vanilla tea and learn more about the farming processes used by local people

Take in the beautiful landscape and sounds of Old Moshi as you hike down to the 120 metre tall waterfall. Through oral stories, your guide will tell you the history of the waterfall and how it received the name 'Mambori'
Explore the areas where German missionaries established the first Lutheran church and baptized the first Tanzanians in Kilimanjaro region in 1885. Your guide will inform you of the historical significance associated with each site.
Tour through our local village with your guide. Explore and participate in some of the diverse daily activities of villagers. This tour will take you to local banana farms where your guide will explain the different types of bananas and their uses. Along the way, your guide will identify medicinal plants and explain how local people participate in beekeeping. You will also visit a local blacksmith, dispensary, and have the option to visit a local school.
